Our Endangered Sea Turtle bill is our One Million Dollar bill that celebrates the beauty of these animals that traveled the seas since the beginning; outliving most of the animals they once shared the planet with, including dinosaurs. Sea turtles successfully crawled ashore to nest in abundance on tropical and subtropical beaches around the globe. But, threats like hunting for meat, shell and eggs; habitat destruction; pollution; boat strikes; and introduced predators have wiped out entire turtle populations, or reduced them to mere shadows of their former population.
