Our Road Warrior commemorative bill celebrates the activity of racing motorcycles on tracks, closed circuits, or natural terrain. The main types or motorcycle racing are road racing, conducted on a course made up wholly or partly of public roads; trials, conducted both on and off the highway; speedway racing, conducted on a short, flat, oval dirt track; drag racing, conducted on a straight quarter-mile strip of pavement; hill climbs, conducted on a large dirt hill; and motocross, conducted across a varied topography. The first international road race took place in Douran, France, in 1905. The most famous race is the Tourist Trophy, established on Britain's Isle of Man in 1907. Motorcycle racing in North America began in 1903; since 1937 the Daytona 200-mile (320-km) race has been the leading motorcycle race in the U.S.
